This unique japanese inspired tea set in crackle-glazed ceramic is probably one of Maj-Britt Heilimo first creations, an early prototypes proposed to Arabia around 1951-1952.
A Japanese inspired tea set. This is a piece of art it was not intended to be used a showcase of the Finish ceramic mastery of painting techniques. An amazing piece of Finish ceramic history.
A performance of quality to be exhibited during the Arabia exhibitions in the early 50s.
Maj-Britt Heilimo was born in 1928 in Jakobstad " Brita Heilimo " She studied at the Institute of Industrial Art in Helsinki. Now the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, where she specialized in porcelain painting in the Ceramics Department.



Maj-Britt Heilimo was one of Finland's leading ceramic artists in the early 1950's she mostly created wall plaques and some other unique art pieces to be exhibited during the Arabia international exhibitions she was one of the artists collaborating to these events showcasing her creativity and work quality.
Little is known about her collaboration with Arabia Finland, today she is represented at numerous museums such as the museum of Fine Arts Boston.
